We are the premier, high-performance track and field club serving the North Shore and Sea-to-Sky regions. Our athletes have medalled at the provincial, national, and international levels of competition, and have even set world records.

 Whether you are an aspiring track star, or simply want to run a faster 40-yard dash, our nationally-certified coaches can help you reach your goals. New members of all ages, from 6 to 100, are welcome!

Our athletes don't just compete ― they conquer. With a legacy marked by podium triumphs at provincial, national, and global stages, including the shattering of world records, our Club stands as a beacon of relentless pursuit and unparalleled achievement.

In 2020, we took part in a historic merger that reverberated throughout the sporting realm: the venerable Hershey Harriers Athletic Club seamlessly intertwined its illustrious heritage with ours. Two titans of local athletics now beat as one heart, poised to script countless new chapters of podium glory and proudly carry the banner of British Columbia and Canada onto the international stage.

We welcome new members from ages 6 to 100! Below is information on the different types of membership available.

Not sure if you want to do track? Join us for two trial sessions for $20. The trial fee will be credited to your membership fees if you decide to join. Trial athletes must complete the registration form. The trial program is recommended for all prospective athletes as we cannot issue refunds. 

Please note that our training schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions, unavoidable coaching absences, as well as to suit athletes’ and coaches’ availability. In the absence of a coach, the Club will schedule a replacement coach whenever possible. Please check with info@westvantrack.com before attending your first training session.

MULTI-EVENTS STREAM

Athletes in the Multi-events programs are introduced to and develop the intermediate and advanced performance pathways of track and field.

Athletes on the Track Rascals, Junior Development, Junior Varsity, and Adult Masters Multi-events teams are introduced to track and field, in addition to the development of beginner and intermediate-level track and field skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, and the technical skill progressions for track and field events. These skills form the basis of all land-based sport and as such, provide a strong foundation for success in all other sports and physical activities.

Event specialization and training, advanced training leading to consistent performances at higher levels of competition are the key components of the Varsity and Senior Varsity Team programs.

MIDDLE DISTANCE & XC STREAM

Athletes in the Middle Distance programs are introduced to and develop the intermediate and advanced performance pathways of middle distance and cross-country running. Event specialization and training, advanced training leading to consistent performances at higher levels of competition are the key components of the Senior Varsity Team program.

Trial Memberships

Not sure if you want to do track? Join us for two trial sessions for $20. The trial fee will be credited to your membership fees if you decide to join. Trial athletes must complete the registration form. 

 

Membership Refunds for Injured Athletes

Refunds are available only for injured athletes who have a physician's note. Those refunds will be processed on a pro-rated basis plus a $50 cancellation fee. Refunded athletes who register again with the Club the following year will be credited the $50 cancellation fee towards their membership fee.

 

Competitions

BC Athletics race licenses are required for competition and must be activated before competition. Please contact the Club to activate your race license. BC Athletics is the provincial governing body for Olympic and Paralympic track and field.

 

Other Membership Information

- Bursaries are available for eligible athletes facing financial barriers to membership. Please contact the Club for more information.

- For athletes wishing to pay the annual membership by instalments, please contact the Club. Registrations and full payments received by August 15 will receive a $25 discount per athlete.

- Third and subsequent siblings who also register for an annual membership will each receive a $150 discount.
